After months of absence, Mắt Ngọc, May Trang’s rival girlgroup, returns with a new album, vol.4 “Ngoc/Jade.”
The three member bands followed their vol 3 release of “Tinh Yeu Con Gai/Dong Giao 2007 – Girls’ Love/ 2007” with a return to the “classics” with songs like “Tuổi thần tiên”, “Đêm đô thị, “Sài Gòn” etc… Their CD will also include a set of postcards taken with the old Saigon feel circa 1970s.
It is commonly said that artists travel to the US returns with the new love for semi-classical music. Mat Ngoc has appeared in many shows in the US within the past few years, is this the influence their travels have on them?
Similar to May Trang, Mat Ngoc will return with the original five girls formation : Thúy Nga, Duy Uyên, Thanh Ngọc, Ngô Quỳnh Anh và Hoàng Oanh in the musical show “Hoa Nhip Ban Tre/June – Young Beat – June Edition“. Old members like Hoàng Hải and Thu Thủy will return with the original five girls formation: Thúy Nga, Duy Uyên, Thanh Ngọc, Ngô Quỳnh Anh và Hoàng Oanh will also participate in the show. It can be seen as a show to celebrate 10th anniversary (1998-2008).
Tạm từ giã hình ảnh trẻ trung, nhí nhảnh để trở về với những cô gái Sài Gòn đằm thắm, nhóm Mắt Ngọc như muốn tách mình ra khỏi nhịp sống hối hả hiện tại, trở về với những hình ảnh thân quen ngày xưa, mang hơi thở của một Sài Gòn xưa về lại với con người hiện đại.
